Este livro é o resultado da III Conferência Internacional de Ginecologia intitulada «Ginecologia e Embriologia em Textos Antigos, Medievais e Modernos Antigos», realizada na Escola de Artes e Humanidades da Universidade de Lisboa de 27 a 28 de junho de 2022. A conferência foi organizada sob os auspícios do projeto Gynecia: Rodericus a Castro Lusitanus and the Ancient Medical Tradition About Gynaecology and Embryology, que foi apoiado com financiamento nacional pela Fundação para a Ciência e o Tecnologia (FCT).

Estudiosos da medicina antiga, medieval e renascentista discutiram uma ampla gama de temas e assuntos relacionados à ginecologia e embriologia, e o seu desenvolvimento até aos dias de hoje.

This book is the result of the Third International Gynecia Conference titled “Gynaecology and Embryology in Ancient. Medieval and Early Modern Text”, held in the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Lisbon on 27-28 June 2022. The conference was organized under the áuspices of the project Gynecia:Rodericus a

Castro lusitanus and the Ancient Medical Tradition About Gynaecology and Embryology, which was suported with national funding by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Scholars of ancient, medieval and Renaissance medicine discussed a widw range of themes and subjects related to gynaecology and embryology, and their development to the presente day. The eighteen essays in this volume are arranged in chronological order and examine the accounts of medical writers and their work. Together, they offer a comprehensive perspective on the history of medicine from early times to the Renaissance.
