Arthur Conan Doyle

Médico e escritor escocês, nasceu a 22 de Maio de 1859, em Edimburgo, e faleceu a 7 de Julho de 1930. Notável contador de histórias, que concebia com grande poder imaginativo, tornou-se extremamente popular a partir da publicação da primeira aventura do detetive Sherlock Holmes, em 1887. Seguiram-se dezenas de histórias com Holmes como protagonista. Para além destas obras, Doyle publicou também narrativas históricas (como The White Company) e de ficção científica (como The Lost World).
